I have used my for over ten years. I have found the secret is the change the water several times a day, at least twice, three if you can. I also have in washed the trays in dishwasher on the top shelf, not heat cycle to prevent mold. Indeed you can use for mung and adzuki, but I can see why it not recoomended, the larger beans push the top off of the BIOSTA on spouting.
