Very powerful motor, will blend anything. A little difficult to get a feel for how powerful it can be, you need to practice a bit. Base is a brushed stainless steel that tough to keep clean. Carafe is pleny big for most of my fruit blending. 1st one I got the motor quick, but L'equip customer service was quick and easy in replacing.
