When I got this thing it came with instructions on how to assemble the product but now how to properly place the fruit/veggies in the machine. I through a cucumber in there and it turned to pure mush. 'This is crap,' I thought. But I went online and read the instructions and Kohler DOES explain EXACTLY how to place the food into the slicer and now it works WONDERFULLY. I don't know how I lived without the thing. I got it in the mail a few days ago and have only eaten sliced food since then! So yes I HIGHLY ADVISE you to read the instructions online. Otherwise you will have chopped mush, which is so not cool. It's the manufacturer's fault for not including instructions, but hey.
